Literature Text

Two days passed since Levi had taken me to the hospital.

The situation, of course, hasn’t improved at all.

Right now, I don’t know what to do. Levi’s reason to kidnap me… I try to push aside that fact, but it just doesn’t work. Leanne was too nice to me… I’d like to believe that I was taken here for something good. Levi wants to save his mother and he had no other choice… but at the same time, it’s not that easy to simply forgive him everything. He deceived me, made me unconscious and brought me here, then tied me up. I even had to get into some fight with Oluo.

Even so, I understand his reasons. If I were him, I’d probably do the same – I mean, if I was already in his situation. I wouldn’t allow myself to pity him or anything, A kidnapper mustn’t feel sorry for the victim, that would be a fatal mistake. Once it’s started, there’s no going back.

I still have no idea whether Levi likes me at least a little bit. If he has the chance, he prefers avoiding me and not talking to me at all, despite everything that… well… happened between us.

Though in the morning after we visited Leanne, there was a rather embarrassing breakfast-talk between Levi, Petra and me – which was already funny and weird, considering and comparing to how I was treated in the beginning. Now they made me proper, delicious meals. No wonder it was because Petra felt guilty for what had happened earlier.

”[First name], it just feels great to see how you like my cooking! Eat up everything!” Petra encouraged me, smiling happily.

”It really it perfect!” I nodded, not taking my eyes off the food and stuffing it into my mouth impatiently and hungrily.

”It’s not just yours alone, Petra. By the way, [First name], do you always eat in such an unappealing way?” Levi sighed.

Well, what he said hurt me a bit since somehow I wanted to impress him all the time – without any success, obviously - but I didn’t let it show. On the contrary, I glared at him.

”I eat however I want.” I grumbled.

”Okay, okay, let’s just have breakfast quietly, shall we?” Petra suggested quickly and took the fork in her hand.

”Well, [First name] can’t shut up. Or can you?” Levi glanced at me expressionlessly. ”Such a loud brat you are. Just like yesterday. You couldn’t keep quiet for a second.”

I nearly choked on the french fries. Does he mean the… when… he… he dragged me to the bedroom in the afternoon, and…? Is it possible?! What the fuck does he think?!

I couldn’t help but blush awfully hard as I recalled my own moans and gasps along with the delicate feeling of his lips on my skin…

Petra just blinked at us cluelessly.

”Hm? Did I miss something?”

Levi shrugged.

”Not really. She misbehaved.”

Jeez. Even remembering this makes me feel…

The fact that he was the first to talk about what happened the day before…  his shameless and nonchalant way of expressing it… it just confuses me even more. I want to know what he is thinking about me for real. I’m dying to know.

I still haven’t told him that I know why he kidnapped me. I just… I don’t want him to become even colder towards me.

But the most important question is… why do I care about him this much? I hate it. I hate how his ignorance annoys me and how it makes me want to have his attention even more. I’ve heard about that Stockholm Syndrome thing. Is it the same? But then it’s something bad, isn’t it?

But it makes sense -  well, at least I hoped it would make sense. I depend on Levi, and basically he’s my only connection with the world. Also, let’s not put aside that he’s good-looking and smart. It’s understandable that I came to like him.

However, I’ve met countless handsome and brilliant men and they didn’t impress me that much.

Doesn’t matter. In final conclusion, these developing feelings must be some psychologic stuff. It’s kind of… relieving. I don’t have real feelings for him. This unhealthy bond is only a result of this crazy kidnapping.

As for my plans… At the moment, I don’t have any idea about my possible escape.

Yet.

”Don’t worry, I’m not going to do anything with you.” Oluo mumbled, turning a little red.

Did he just blushed? What the hell?

We’ve just finished the lunch, and now it was Oluo’s turn to watch over me. Petra was working – Levi had told her not to reveal her job, so I didn’t know what she was doing – and Mr Almighty Ackerman said he had more important things to deal with. Seriously, what can be that urgent?

Not that I didn’t have any idea. After all, he told Leanne that she could be operated on soon… Maybe he had to call and talk with the doctors. Which ment he was sure that he would get the ransom. And that it wouldn’t take long.

Anyway, I was together with Oluo in his room – the one with the piano in it – and we were glaring at each other, expressing our dissatisfaction with the current hateful situation. We were both sitting on his bed.

You’re not going to do anything with me?” I snorted. ”Please, I broke your nose having my ankles tied, without using my hands. I won’t go easy on you if you fuck with me again, dumbass.”

”I bet you didn’t dare talk to Levi like that!” he retorted angrily, folding his arms.

”He’s not like you at all.” I rolled my eyes. ”Levi doesn’t try to show-off all the time. Also, so far so good: he’s only cooked for me and didn’t tramp on my food.”

Almost unnoticeably, Oluo trembled.

”I think… there’s something in him what is even… scarier.”He paused. ”Much scarier…”

I absolutely got what he meant, but I didn’t let him know.

”He’s still a man. Not someone childish like you.” I grumbled. Well, I was pretty rude to him, even though he didn’t look younger than Levi. ”By the way, how old are you?” I asked simply.

”Nineteen.” He muttered, looking away.

What?! My eyes widened. No way! He doesn’t look that young. Also, Levi definitely isn’t less than nineteen. God, not even less than… like… twenty-five…

I fought back my curiousity and the urge to start asking questions.

”Jeez. You should be studying instead of getting into troubles.” I grumbled. ”Who are you at all to Petra and Levi?”

”Petra is my sister.” He muttered, but then his eyes widened. ”Please don’t tell Levi that you know it!”

I held back the laughter. How can Levi intimidate someone to such extend? Not to mention Oluo could have become his brother-in-law.

”I kind of look up to him.” Oluo explained reluctantly. ”I mean, women likes him and he’s successful in everything. He’s just badass.”

Oh, how unexpected, hearing all this from him. Getting emotional and starting to show our weaknesses, aren’t we?

”He’s nowhere near perfect.” I stated.

Oluo let out a sigh of relief. I guess I’ve just comforted him.

”It took much longer for Petra to realize it. She used to act like his fangirl.”

It awakened my interest. Well, if he feels like talking about Levi for some strange reason, I’ll gladly listen to him.

”Does she still love him?” I asked the question that bothered me the most.

”I don’t know. A month ago, it looked like she was going to be one of her collegues’ girlfriend.” He went silent, then furrowed his eyebrows, just like Levi did from time to time. ”Tch. But stop asking me weird things. It’s not your business.”

I didn’t say anything, just raised my eyebrows and turned my head away. Well, I expected that. I’m surprised that he even admitted those few things that had been on his mind.

”[First name].” I heard Oluo mumble under his breath. He had never called me by my first name before. ”You know… I’m sorry for the things I’ve done to you. You don’t deserve being treated badly.” When he finished, he grimaced and blushed. He lowered his head a bit, hoping that I wouldn’t notice it.

”Eh?” I gazed at him. Why would he apologize?! What is he plotting? I furrowed my eyebrows suspiciously. ”What’s with you?”

”I was unfair and I’m sorry.” He rubbed his cheeks nervously. ”That’s all.”

I couldn’t help but smile at him. After all, he really was a kid. A confused kid, and it was Levi’s fault. How could he get him into a trouble like this?!

Hey, don’t forgive him so easily, I reminded myself. Let’s just put aside the potato-incident, but still, Oluo almost killed me. If Levi had arrived a minute later, I wouldn’t have got away with those minor bruises.

Even so, I couldn’t be angry with him. What’s with me? I’m being too soft. If it goes on like this, I might just marry Levi and become best friends with Petra and Oluo.

I went pale at that thought.

Hatred invaded my insides again. I felt that similar determination, the same that had kept me going a few days ago.

How could I let Levi manipulate and influence me that much? Petra and her fucking dishes, who gives a damn about them? Oh, now Oluo joined as well, he’s begging for my forgiveness, it’s cute, isn’t it?

It was like waking up from a dream – no, a nightmare. As if I had been brainwashed. But now I was myself again. My plan was to get out of the attic, and I did. My hands aren’t tied, I can do whatever I want. Isn’t this the chance that I had always wanted? Then what am I waiting for? Yes, Levi’s mother is dying, but… there are millions of people who are dying as well. Kidnapping someone is not the solution. Moreover, that surgery might not helps her at all.

I was so blind…

”Tch, you aren’t paying attention at all.” Oluo huffed.

”Oh.” I mumbled, then forced a smile. “Don’ blame yourself, okay? I’ve already got over it. Now, I’m thirsty; I’ll go and drink a glass of water.”

Oluo just nodded. He didn’t bother coming with me and keep an eye on me.

Perfect. I looked around as I was walking to the kitchen. Levi wasn’t around, but I had the impossible feeling that I was being watched. I grit my teeth. [First name], you’re becoming paranoid. You better get the fuck out of here as soon as possible, before it’s too late.

I pulled out a few drawers silently. Shit, it’s not that… wrong again, this is for the tea leaves… here we go. Finally, I found the cutleries. My heart started beating loudly, and I gulped. If I take a knife, then it’s decided that I’m going to use it. Tonight.

Slowly, with trembling fingers, I reached out, then…

”What are you doing?” I heard a sharp voice.

I thought my heart stopped.

“Oluo!” I sighed after I quickly looked at the person who had scared me. Thank god it wasn’t Levi. “I’d like to drink some hot chocolate. That’s why I’ll need this.” I said and wrapped my fingers around a spoon, then took it out.

”Hmph. Alright then. I just checked on you.” he shrugged nonchalantly, then left me alone as unexpectedly as he came.

I groaned quietly. Now that was close!

I quickly took a slender-bladed knife. Carefully, I touched its tip. I guess this will do me a favour tonight.

Since there wasn’t much to do together, I asked for books to read. Oluo just frowned, telling me that he doesn’t really have any, except for magazines. I sighed and accepted them. He gave me sport journals, then threw himself on the bed and using his headphone, started listening to music.

I could barely concentrate on the words because of the uncomfortable feeling of the knife, which was pressing against my forearm. I hid it under my sleeve. The thought that I was going to kill tonight made my insides clench up, but I had to act normally nevertheless.

Suddenly Levi opened the door and came in.

“Now what is this, old people’s meeting?” he asked nonchalantly, but Oluo immediately took his headset off and stopped the music.

“We’re just killing time.” he explained quickly.

Levi raised his eyebrows, then glanced at the magazine in my hand.

“I could have given you something more intelligent and less boring.” He said, then turned to the younger male again. “I’ll take it over for now.”

Oluo looked at Levi pleadingly.

“But… I’ll gladly stay with [First name]!”

I froze, and Levi’s face darkened a bit.

“What do you mean, brat? You have a weird taste in women then.”

“Levi!” My jaw dropped, and I was swearing mentally. That arrogant, damn, rude… ignorant fucking bastard!

Actually, what bothered me the most was the fact that he managed to hurt me simply with a few words. It only took him about thirty seconds.

“That’s not that, I just… alright, I don’t want to go back to the attic.” Oluo muttered uneasily, then secretly looked at me from the corner of his eye. “But [First name] is okay too.”

Levi’s features smoothened.

“You don’t have to take Petra this seriously. Clean the attic and you can move back to this room.”

“Uhm… but then… only one room is left for the three of you.” Oluo mumbled.

“We’ll manage.” Levi murmured, but I, on the other hand, truly hated the idea of sleeping between the ex-engaged couple. I hope it wasn’t what he meant… Hell, just no. Thousand times no!

“I guess you’re right.” Oluo shrugged.

“Yes. Now take the broom and the dusters, you have things to do if I’m not mistaken.” Levi instructed, then turned to me at last. “We’re going to my room now.”

I sighed and placed the magazine on Oluo’s bed. After, I stood up and followed him, leaving the blond boy behind. I felt my heart beating in my throat. I’ll most definitely make it. I have to; for myself, for my father.

Dad. I felt sorry for him. He must have gone crazy by now, having me all disappeared cluelessly. I bet he ordered everyone to search for me… Levi has no idea what he causes when he doesn’t get in thouch with him.

Or maybe on the contrary, he does, and precisely that’s why he hasn’t called Dad.

I got in the other room, but Levi headed to the kitchen.

“I’ll bring some food.” He muttered, turning his back to me.

As much as god must have hated me the day Levi kidnapped me, I seemed to be incredibly lucky now. I quickly pulled the knife out and hid it under the bed. I felt great relief that I got rid of it. I only hoped that Levi didn’t plan any spontaneous tidying up. I sat on the double bed, waiting for him.

He got back quickly with a plate, which was full of fruits – slices of apples, peaches and pears, small strawberries and cherries.

“I think it’s too healthy from you, why don’t you put a box of cigarette on the top?” I inquired.

He didn’t say anything, just placed it next to me.

“But before that, stand up.” Levi said quietly.

I obeyed and he stepped closer to me. I held my breath, not knowing what he intended to do.

Unexpectedly, he started patting my arms, my back, my chest through the shirt– I wanted to pull away with a squawk but he kept me in place by grabbing my wrist - , then he squatted down in front of me, continuing to pass his hands quickly over my – Petra’s – clothes.

“Jeez, Levi.” I said through my teeth angrily. He didn’t take advantage of the situation nor seemed to enjoy it; he was simply frisking me. Even so, I blushed when I felt his fingers running over my bottom.

“Oluo is rather unreliable, that’s why I have to check if you have something with you that you shouldn’t.” He stood up. “But you’re okay.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Of course I am.”

Though if he had frisked me three minutes earlier…

Levi nodded.

My heart accelerated again. There won’t be any better opportunity than that. The knife is under the bed, Oluo is cleaning the attic, Petra is working…Levi doesn’t suspect anything…

I just can’t give up. I have to try to seduce him once again.

Not wasting any second – if I did, I might have changed my mind – I grabbed him and pushed him onto the bed. The action was so unexpected that he didn’t even resist. Lying between the sheets, he looked at me. His expression wasn’t surprised, he just raised his eyebrows a bit.

“[First name]?” He questioned me in a dull voice.

I quickly jumped on him. I straddled his hips, pinning his wrists down. He still didn’t do anything, just observed me with cool eyes.

I have to turn him on and just let him have his way with me, just like he did last time.

It’s only that this time I had a bloody surprise for him.

My tongue was already on his neck, tasting his salty skin. I closed my eyes, somehow enjoying the situation.

“Stop this, [First name].” Levi ordered, but it surely wasn’t enough to convince me.

“I want you, Levi.” I whispered. I praised the Lord for not letting him see my expression, which both showed embarrassment and determination. “I want you… inside me.”

“You don’t mean it.”

This was my very last chance. I could get out of this situation if I wanted…

“I do.”  I breathed.

I started unbuttoning his shirt quickly while kissing my way up to his lips. My breathed hitched in my throat when I realized that my mouth nearly arrived at its destination.

Just a moment before I could steal a kiss from him, he changed position by flipping me to my back with an audible sound. Now I was the one being pinned down; I had no chance to move with all his bodyweight on me.

“Show me how serious you are.”
